Story of the Birth of Lord Krishna

The story starts with Devki’s Brother Kansa, who was told by Akashwani(Voice in the Sky) that his sister’s son would kill him. So Kansa decided to kill his sister Devki but Vasudev(husband of Devki) begged him to forgive her and promised him to give every child of Devki to him.

So he was satisfied and let go of Devki. But he took both of them to Jail so that any of her children would not survive. Krishna was the eighth child of Devki before Kansa killed the 7 children of Devki.

On the day of the birth of Krishna, the Lord himself told Vasudev to take him to his friend Nand’s house. There is heavy rain all around that day and it is the Sheshnaag who helped Vasudev to cross the Yamuna river.

Vasudev exchanged Krishna with Yashoda’s daughter and headed back to prison. When Kansa came to kill the child then the girl transferred to Goddess Durga and warned Kansa that his Kaal was already born somewhere else.
