Peyush was born on 26 April 1985 in New Delhi. He completed his basic education at Don Bosco School, Delhi, and his Bachelor’s from McGill University in 2006. Later working for two years in reputed companies he decided to pursue a management course and enrolled himself in the Management Course for Entrepreneurs and Family Businesses during 2008-09 at IIM, Banglore.

After completing his graduation he started working at Microsoft as a program manager in Redmond, Washington in 2007. During that, he launched a portal SearchMyCampus which connects college students with different services like internships, transportation, books, accommodation, and part-time jobs.
Peyush worked there for around a year and after that, he resigned from the post and came to India. Peyush Bansal wanted to set up his own business in India that’s why he started looking for ideas.
In 2010, along with Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, he launched Lenskart as an online seller of contact lenses. But within a year he experienced the market expanded company and started selling sunglasses and eyeglasses online.
Lenskart funded many eyewear startups like John Jacobs in 2015, Aqualens in 2019, Lenskart Plus in 2020, and Lenskart Vision Fund in 2022.
Lenskart’s worth became more than a billion dollars in 2019 and for now it has 600+ stores and more than 4000 employees.
